At EXTRUDAN we have – from the very beginning – carried on the Danish tradition of manufacturing single use products. A tradition, which started back in the fifties and continued through the years until EXTRUDAN started in 1984 as a one-man firm. At the beginning our main activity was the extrusion of tubes and profiles. There were also tubes for medical applications among our first products.

Since 1995, when EXTRUDAN was transformed into a private limited company, we have concentrated entirely on single use medical products with extrusion as the dominating technology. Injection moulding was added when EXTRUDAN first introduced its very own products: Suction Sets, Suction Pieces and Connecting Tubes for the removal of secretion. These products still constitute the main activity of our company. 

How we proceeded …

EXTRUDAN decided to move its production facility from Slangerup in Denmark to Poznan in Poland. Since 1998 we have produced all of our product range in Poland. We believe that we have the best of two worlds – the Danish tradition of manufacturing high-quality single use products combined with the stable and well-qualified workforce that we have found in Poland. We have located our factory in Poland’s fourth largest town: Poznan. Poznan is situated on the axes between Berlin and Warsaw. This provides us with good access to the markets in the centre and south of Europe, which – together with the Nordic Countries – are the main markets for EXTRUDAN products.

The core values of EXTRUDAN are transparency and predictability. It is not our goal to revolutionise the world. We merely want to improve it step by step.

We advocate the principle of openness about our methods of production. This is what we call transparency. You should know who you are dealing with. We try to set a good example in the areas of environmental protection and sustainable production – not only within the scope of patient care, but also within the world at large.

The products

– Suction Sets, Suction Pieces and Connecting Tubes for the removal of secretion during operations, intensive care or the care of patients in general.

– Suction Catheters, Urology Catheters and Catheters for the administration of oxygen.

– Insufflation Tubes with Filters for the administration of CO2-gas during minimal invasive surgery.

Environment

At EXTRUDAN we care about the environment. Our company is certified according to ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standard.

Furthermore, we re-use more that 98% of the waste from our production. The re-use process is carried out within our company or outside. As regards the recycling that we are not able to carry out within our own company (at our production facility in Poznan, Poland), we have a contract with a local recycling organisation – EKO Cykl Organizacja Odzysku S.A. EKO is responsible for recycling the waste which we cannot recycle ourselves like paper, carton board, plastic, chemicals etc. A system for the internal separation of different materials for recycling is implemented. Waste separation is not only applied within production but also covers the entire company.

Sterility

Sterilisation process is carried within our own company. We have EO sterilizer with the capacity of 24 pallets (64m³) with the triple stage scrubber.

Process is carried out within the framework of: EN550 Sterilization of Medical Devices. Validation and Routine Control of Ethylene Oxide Sterilization.
